Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) on Tuesday confirmed the white-ball series against India at home starting late November. India women’s tour will comprise of the five-match ODI series, followed by the three-match T20I series in the bilateral series.
The cricket boards of both the countries are working closely to ensure the series goes with all the safety measures. Neither team has so far played any international match since the women’s T20 World Cup in March.
However, the major hurdle in the series could be the mandatory 14-day quarantine when the Indian women team arrives in Sri Lanka.
As per the rules of the Health Ministry, the players will have to isolate themselves in their hotel rooms and not train. SLC is still hopeful of some relaxation from the health ministry of the country over the COVID-19 rules.
The Indian women cricketers will be present in the UAE for the Women’s T20 Challenge starting November 4. As per the ESPN CricInfo, the players might directly travel to Sri Lanka after the conclusion of the tournament.
At least two Sri Lankan players are also expected to take part in the women’s T20 Challenge in the UAE.
