New Zealand Cricket (NZC) on Monday announced the squad for the upcoming home white-ball and red-ball series against West Indies. Regular skipper Kane Williamson and pacer Trent Boult have been neglected for the series after returning from the IPL.
Tim Southee will be the in-charge of the side in the first two T20I matches in absence of Williamson who is also focusing on the Test series.
To ploy against the visitors, the board has named two uncapped players Devon Conway and Kyle Jamieson owing to their consistent performance.
Expectedly, Colin Munro has been left out of the T20I squad due to his obligation to his Big Bash League team Perth Scorchers.
Tim Seifert will be the wicket-keeper for the T20I series while BJ Watling will take on the gloves for the Test series. Kane Williamson will be leading the Test team and Trent Boult has also been listed in the test team alongside pacers Tim Southee and Neil Wagner.
All rounder Colin de Grandhomme and bowler Ajaz Patel have also been named in the Test team despite their foot and calf injuries respectively.
