Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) on Wednesday released the new jersey of the national team for the side’s international Test matches. Sri Lankan skipper Dimuth Karunaratne revealed the new jersey of the side for the longest format of the game.
Sri Lanka Cricket took to its official Twitter handle and shared the skipper’s picture donning the new jersey with a caption: “Headshots session. How do you rate the new-look Test jersey? #SAvsSL”
The board further tweeted, “For the first time, the Sri Lanka men’s Test team shirt will feature a large sponsor logo across the front. This temporary call was taken by the ICC as a measure to help cricket boards recover from revenue losses in the wake of the Covid-19 pandemic”
Sri Lankan team arrived in South Africa on Tuesday and scheduled to play a two-match Test series set to begin on the Boxing Day (December 26).
This will be Sri Lanka’s first-ever international fixture post the coronavirus pandemic since March. They played in the inaugural edition of the Lanka Premier League that saw Jaffna Stallions win the title on December 16.
Sri Lanka will return back home to host England after the conclusion of the South Africa tour on January 7.
