A new team Pune Devils is all set to make its debut in the forthcoming 2021 edition of the Abu Dhabi T10 League next year. The tournament is all set to begin January 28, 2021 and the entire tournament will take place at the Sheikh Zayed Stadium.
Abu Dhabi T10 League will feature as many as nine teams including the new team Pune Devils while the rest of them being: Team Abu Dhabi, Maratha Arabians, Bangla Tigers, Deccan Gladiators, Qalandars, Delhi Bulls, Northern Warriors, and the Karnataka Tuskers.
Pune Devils is owned by Alpha Sports has appointed former South African player Jonty Rhodes and Sri Lankan all rounder Thisara Perera as the skipper.
Mohammad Amir who announced retirement from the international cricket yesterday will also play for the Devils in the forthcoming season.
After his appointment, Johnty Rhodes said, “I’m really excited to be chosen as the head coach of Pune Devils. Really looking forward to an exciting and entertaining season ahead.”
Thisara Perera who will also be a part of the team also expressed delight by saying, “I am excited and looking forward to being a part of Pune Devils at the upcoming T10 tournament in Abu Dhabi. This is going to be extra special given that we are a new team with a lot of talent to explore.”
Franchise owner Krishan Kumar Choudhary also said, “We are thrilled to be a part of the swiftest and the most exciting cricket tournament played by some of the world’s biggest names. With Jonty as our Head coach and the likes of Thisara and Amir we are confident and look forward to a new season of Abu Dhabi T10 Tournament.”
