Australian limited overs skipper Aaron Finch on Thursday confirmed his availability for Melbourne Renegades in BBL 10. Finch had missed the second T20I after reporting a glute strain with Matthew Wade leading in his absence.
Melbourne Renegades also confirmed Finch’s availability for the first two matches in the course of the weekend encounters starting December 12. Renegades will face Perth Scorchers in their opening game on Saturday, followed by their second match against Sydney Sixers.
Renegades head coach Michael Klinger even confirmed that Finch will be leading the side in their opening game against the Perth Scorchers.
”He’s(Finch) definitely going to be playing; He’ll have his hit out tomorrow with us leading into the game so he’s ready to go and he always comes to the Renegades set up with a fantastic attitude.” Klinger said.
He also said that Finch will also take some time off during the course of the tournament so as to spend some time with his family. Finch has been in his peak form, scoring a century and a couple of half-centuries during the ODI series against India.
”There may be periods where we give him time to go home. We’re quite lucky in our first period where we’ve got two blocks where we’ve got six-day breaks after our back-to-back games on the 12th and 13th so there may be a period there where we can get Finchy home.” Klinger added.
With two consecutive games lined up this weekend, Renegades will be hoping to start their campaign on a winning note. They finished at the basement of the BBL 9 and this time around they would look to change their fortunes by registering wins in the earlier stage of the tournament.
