Cricket Australia (CA) on Monday announced the schedule of the second half of the 10th edition of the Big Bash League. The second half of the tournament will be played post the Christmas at Perth and Melbourne during January in 2021.
Earlier this month, the board had also announced the first half of the season slated to be played at Manuka Oval, Adelaide, Bellerive Oval and Gabba.
All the 21 matches will be played under the bio-secure bubble starting with Hobart and Canberra, followed by Queensland and Adelaide.
The second half of the tournament will start with the first match at Optus Stadium in Perth. A total of five matches will be played ta the venue, with four of them being Perth Scorchers’ home games.
The final stage of the tournament will see Sydney and Melbourne playing as hosts through to the finals. Sydney Cricket Ground and Sydney Showground Stadium will combinedly host a total of 8 matches.
It will be followed by Melbourne hosting the final 11 matches, with Marvel Stadium set to host five of them and rest six at MCG.
“The league is delighted to confirm the boldest schedule in Australian sport since the pandemic began by committing to take matches to every club’s home market in KFC BBL|10,” BBL head Alistair Dobson said.
“This schedule is a testament to the strength of the League and ensures our fans around the country will get the chance to see their BBL Clubs in action on home soil,” he concluded.
The final series comprising of five matches will begin from January 29 while the final will take place on February 6.
The 10th edition of the Big Bash League will get underway from December 10 between Hobart Hurricanes nd Sydney Sixers at Bellerive Oval.
