Big Bash League team Sydney Thunder on Tuesday confirmed of extending a two-year-contract with the all-rounder Daniel Sams.
The 27-year-old will now be a part of the franchise until the end of the 12th edition of the Big Bash League. He has been one of the influential figures in the Thunders camp and also a game changer on most of the ocassions.
The left-arm pacer also dominated the BBL last season and finished with 30 wickets at an average of 15.37. He also overtook Kane Richardson’s record of 24 wickets in a single season.
Sams is currently in England as one of the reserves for Australia for the white-ball series and after that he is all set to join Delhi Capitals in IPL.
Sams said that he is really delighted to be associated with the franchise for the next two seasons and expects to be with them for a long-term period.
“I’ve really enjoyed my first two years at the Thunder,” Sams said.
“We’ve got an awesome bunch of players, great support staff and the support we get from the Thunder Nation is fantastic, so it just made sense to commit for the next three years.
“It’s really exciting being part of this club at the moment and looking ahead to the future we should have some really good success.”
“We’re gradually getting better and better and I think this year is going to be a really strong year for us.” he concluded.
