The ongoing row between Cricket Australia and Channel Seven has taken a new turn as the broadcast giants have agreed on paying the cricket body.
Channel Seven had terminated the broadcasting deal with Cricket Australia following the declining relationship. They alleged that Cricket Australia didn’t inform them about the upcoming summer schedule and hence breached the contract.
The channel was supposed to shell out $25 million to the CA for September but later refused to pay a single penny. Now both the parties will have to comply on a compromising deal while their deals will be assessed revised accordingly.
The Channel Seven is finding ways to bail out from the deal with CA entirely as their CEO James Warburton asserted publicly. Warburton had recently announced of signing a deal of broadcasting the Supercars motor racing.
He also attacked the Cricket Australia’s administration, calling them train-wreck and incompetent.
