The players of Mumbai Indians are all psyched up as the opening match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) nears. Just ahead of the opening match, Chris Lynn has come forward to praise the Mumbai Indians skipper, Rohit Sharma for his terrific game and captaincy.
In a video posted by Mumbai Indians on their official Twitter handle, the right-handed batsman praised Rohit’s on and off-field presence. He said, “Rohit, what a world-class player! Runs on the board, on and off the field what he’s contributed to Mumbai is something really really special.”
Australia’s promising batsman also expressed his ecstasy on playing in the IPL and especially, the A-rated team, Mumbai Indians. “Being picked up for any team in IPL is a privilege but to go to the probable number one team franchise in the tournament is something really special,” said Lynn who was owned up by the Mumbai Indians for INR 2 crores in the 2019 auction. Lynn has previously played for the IPL franchises Kolkata Knight Riders and Deccan Chargers.
The player also praised South African batsman Quinton de Cock, “And Quinny has been outstanding with the gloves and the bat in hand.”
The confident Lynn hopes to make use of his T10 tournament from last year. “I have got some really good memories from the T10 tournament last year here in Abu Dhabi. So, I’ll hopefully just reconnect with what worked for me there and hopefully put some performances on the board,” he added.
The Mumbai Indians are all set to lock horns with Chennai Super Kings in the opening match of the tournament on Saturday at Abu Dhabi.
A total of 50 matches will be played in IPL 2020 from 19 September to 10 November across three venues in UAE- Abu Dhabi, Sharjah and Dubai.
