Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) on Tuesday finally confirmed the appointment of Craig McMillan as batting consultant. The former New Zealand all-rounder will take in-charge as the batting consultant of Bangladesh for their upcoming tour of Sri Lanka.
McMillan’s appointment comes into effect after Neil McKenzie stepped down as the batting coach on August 19. The former all-rounder served as the batting coach of New Zealand from 2014 and resigned soon after the 2019 World Cup.
McMillan also has an assignment of the batting consultant of the IPL franchise Kings XI Punjab for the upcoming edition in the UAE.
McKenzie pulled out of the Sri Lanka tour citing family reason, although BCB wanted him to continue with his job for the side. Bangladesh appointed McKenzie back in 2018 and he also heaped praises from the Bangladesh players for helping them.
Bangladesh will tour Sri Lanka for three Tests starting from October 24. The team will leave for Sri Lanka a month before the series to get used to the conditions.
