Cricket Australia (CA) on Thursday announced the 18-man squad for the upcoming limited-overs series against India. Yesterday, the board had also announced the complete schedule of India’s tour to Australia comprising of three ODIs, as many T20Is and four-match Test series.
There are some new names in the squad led by the regular skipper Aaron Finch and his deputy Pat Cummins.
Cameron Green, a batsman from Western Australia has made a cut into the squad following his magnificent performance in the Sheffield Shield tournament. He scored 158 and 197 in the first round of the tournament against Tasmania and New South Wales respectively.
The 21-year-old also has the ability to bowl, although he had sustained injury last season, is now aiming to start rolling his arms.
Moises Henriques has also been named into the squad after a leap of over three years. Mitchell Marsh has not been named in the squad due to the injury he sustained during the IPL. The all-rounder underwent surgery, now keeping him out of the field for some time.
Daniel Sams is also a new face in the squad who is currently with the Delhi Capitals in the UAE for the ongoing season of IPL.
He was impressive during the last season’s Big Bash League leading to his selection in the T20I squad.
The first match of the ODI series will take place on November 27 at the Sydney Cricket Ground.
