Kolkata Knight Riders’ (KKR) player Pat Cummins is all praises for his teammate and bowler Lockie Ferguson for his brilliant bowling in the face-off between KKR and Sunrisers Hyderabad (SR) in Abu Dhabi on Sunday.
Ferguson was on a roll during the match. Skipper Eoin Morgan’s decision to introduce Ferguson in the 6th over proved to be the kairotic moment for KKR. He clinched 3 important wickets for the team, conceding only 15 runs.
Heaping praises for his teammate during the post-match press conference, Cummins said, “It was pretty easy decision to pick Lockie (for the Super Over), he bowled beautifully… Amazing performance from Lockie, I am very happy for him. He was unbelievable under pressure as well. It was a great performance.”
The Super Over was the major highlight of the match. Ferguson took the cake when he was chosen to bowl from KKR’s side. He dismissed Warner in the first ball and Abdul Samad by the third. SR yielded to his bowling and could manage to set a target of merely 3 runs, scoring beyond which was a plain sailing task for KKR. They succeeded in doing so effortlessly and won the match. Ferguson’s spectacular display of bowling won him the Man of the Match.
With their victory over SR, KKR has now clinched the 4th spot on the points table with 10 points. Cummins believes that his team is yet to unleash its full potential and that they are about to be successful in this aspect in the upcoming matches.
He said, “The exciting thing for me is that we have not played our best cricket yet. We have not yet had that one complete game where we totally dominated the opponent. I know that is going to happen at some stage. It is great that we are in the top four.”
KKR will next lock horns with Delhi Capitals on 24th October.
