During the first Qualifier match against Mumbai Indians, Delhi Capitals players wore black armbands at Dubai International stadium.
The players were seen wearing the bands for paying respect to pacer Mohit Sharma’s father who passed away on Tuesday night.
The pacer flew back to India after hearing about the demise of his father ahead the side’s qualifier 1 clash with Mumbai Indians.
Haryana Cricket Association board members along with the players were present with Mohit to mourn his father, Mohipal Sharma’s death.
Kultar Malik, president of Haryana Cricket Association said, “as an association, we share a deep bond with our players and their parents which gets strengthened during the growth of the player from the age-group level to the top”
“It is a personal loss for me. We pray that God gives Mohit and the family the strength in this difficult time,” he added. (ANI)
If Delhi Capitals win the match against the Mumbai Indians, they will directly enter the finals of IPL 2020. In case, they lose this one, they will have to face the winner between SRH vs RCB contest.
