As the ODI series between England and Australia is set to conclude, the IPL bound players will fly to the UAE for the IPL.
Apparently, the players joining the bubble in the UAE have to undergo six days of quarantine. However, the payers have requested Sourav Ganguly to alter the quarantine period to only three days.
As many as 21 players from both the teams will be participating in the upcoming season of the cash-rich league. And none of the players are willing to miss a single game once they make it to the UAE on time. A senior BCCI member confirmed that the players have jointly asked for shortening the quarantine period.
“Yes, the BCCI president has received a request. It may have been written by one of the players but it is something that all the English and Australian players, who are coming from the UK, feel” the official told PTI.
The likes of David Warner, Steve Smith, Jonny Bairstow and Jofra Archer are the key players for their respective teams. And in this case, those teams would be at a disadvantage in the early stages of the season. Chennai Super Kings will be the least affected team while Rajasthan Royals will be the most-hit team due to the BCCI’s quarantine policy.
