England’s proposed tour of Pakistan speculated to take place early next year has now been postponed for the second half of 2021. As per the sources, the reason behind the postponement is the unavailability of venues and also the issues with the costing.
England is already due to play against India and Sri Lanka early next year, and before that most of the England players will be busy playing in the BBL.
Considering the fact that England has a hectic schedule ahead, the prospect of them touring Pakistan has been stalled for first half of 2021.
After a successful tour of Pakistan to England, Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) also invited the ECB to tour Pakistan as a return gesture. England touring Pakistan would have been their first in the last 15 years after their series between 2005-06.
Initially, the ECB was planning on hiring a charter flight to the UAE and conduct a training camp and that would cost them around £800,000. And spending a hefty amount in the absence of the star players was not feasible for the ECB for the Pakistan series.
The PCB has expressed desire to host England with a return favor of bringing back the international cricket with in the country.
