England batsman Tom Banton has expressed excitement to share his room alongside the West Indies T20 star Andre Russell. Both Russell and Banton are part of the franchise Kolkata Knight Riders for the upcoming season of IPL in UAE.
The 13th edition of the Indian Premier League is all set to start from September 19 and matches will take place across Abu Dhabi, Dubai and Sharjah. The KKR franchise had acquired the England batsman for Rs. 1 crore during the IPL 2020 auction last year.
Banton has been really promising batsman and his performance in the domestic circuit in England has grabbed attention globally.
The 21-year-old right handed batsman spoke about his excitement for playing alongside the Caribbean star Andre Russell.
“I am particularly excited to play alongside Andre Russell and Pat Cummins. I watched Andre last year, and he played really well. Learning from someone like him will be really cool,” Banton spoke on the team’s official website.
Banton was a part of the limited-overs series against Ireland earlier this month. England skipper Eoin Morgan will also play for the KKR this season as he joins his old team after two years.
