Former captain of the Bangladesh cricket team Habibul Bashar has been hospitalized following a COVID-19 test in which he tested positive.
“I was admitted on Monday. The doctor said that my lung infection increased and immediately admitted me to the hospital. I am not having any fever at the moment and due to infection in my lungs, the fever was not going,” Bashar said.
”Now I am quite fine as there is no breathing problem and hopefully will be released on Saturday,” he added.
Bashar tested positive for the virus last week after experiencing breathing issues, following which he was detected with a lung infection. He was hospitalized thereafter.
Bashar, who was once among the leading batsmen for his national side, is currently serving as the national selector in the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) selection panel and has been quite active on the field lately participating in training and matches.
