Australian paceman Josh Hazelwood has climbed up to the fifth spot in the ICC Test Bowling Rankings. His achievement comes following the first Test between India and Australia at Adelaide.
Hazelwood played exceptionally in the second inning of the first Test, in which he claimed 5 wickets for 8. He was on the ninth spot in the ICC ranking before the Adelaide day-night Test. With the help of his latest performance, the paceman earned 805 points, reclaiming his position in the top five, which he previously held in 2018.
Hazelwood’s teammate, speedster Pat Cummins is the current best Test bowler with 910 points. Cummins has smoothly managed to maintain his top ranking, thanks to his fiery spell in the second inning of the Test during which, he partnered with the fifth ranker to crush team India’s batting line-up. Cummins captured 4 wickets in the match. He dismissed 3 wickets in the first inning.
The other three spots in the top five of the ICC Test Bowling Rankings is acquired by Stuart Broad, Neil Wagnur, and Tim Southee.
English cricketer Stuart Broad acquires the second rank with 845 points, while New Zealand players’ N Wagnur and Tim Southee acquire the third and fourth spots with 840 and 825 points respectively.
