With IPL coming to an end, the Indian team will be touring Australia for a two-month-long tour from mid-November. Team India players selected for the Test series are all set to start their preparation for the pink ball test today.
All the Indian players will begin their preparations from Friday’s evening at the ICC Academy in Dubai after arrangements from the BCCI.
One of the Indian team management spoke to ANI and confirmed that the likes of Hanuma Vihari and Cheteshwar Pujara have already started training. From today onwards, the players will start training under the floodlights.
“The team realises the need to prepare for such an intense series and we want to use as much of our time judiciously in Dubai. We will have sessions under lights from today and with the pink ball. Today’s session will be a three-hour session approximately,” the source said.
“Pujara, Vihari, and the rest are currently working with Nuwan in Raghu’s absence. It is unfortunate but you cannot do anything about Raghu testing positive for coronavirus. Looking at the brighter side, Nuwan brings in the left-arm angle and that is a plus as Starc is an integral part of the Australian attack,” the source added.
Australia series will begin with the ODI series starting from November 27, followed by the T20I series from December 4.
The test series will commence from December 27, with the traditional Boxing day test at the Melbourne Cricket Ground between December 26-30.
The first test match of the Test series will be a Pink ball test, slated to take place in Adelaide Oval ground.
