Delhi Capitals leg-spinner Amit Mishra has been one of the most successful bowlers for the side this season. Unfortunately, he may be doubtful to play against the Royal Challengers Bangalore in Dubai International Stadium today.
During the last game against the Kolkata Knight Riders, Mishra injured his finger during the first over of his spell. He finished with 1/17 in his four overs spell and also removed the in-form KKR opener, Shubman Gill, for 28 runs.
Delhi won the match by 18 runs, but Mishra’s injury came as a blow to them after the match. Later, the scans were conducted on his fingers, and he is still tentative to play until the report comes.
“He hurt his bowling finger and scans have been done to gauge the extent of the injury. The reports are to come in, but he is doubtful for today’s game against RCB. Obviously a blow as he has been in good rhythm, but considering how he has been bowling, the team would definitely want to not risk him,” the official said.
DC skipper Shreyas Iyer also spoke about his absence in the post-match presentation by saying: “Unfortunate to lose Mishra in the middle when he was spinning the ball really well. We were confident we had two good overs left, but anything could happen, it is a funny game in T20s and especially here in Sharjah.” (ANI)
