As many as five IPL teams have signed a deal with the multimedia messaging platform Snapchat for the ongoing season. The teams will be sharing the behind the scenes on Snapchat to interact with the fans closely.
The five teams who have signed deal with Snapchat are: Kolkata Knight Riders, Delhi Capitals, Mumbai Indians, Kings XI Punjab and Chennai Super Kings.
Since the fans are not allowed to enter the stadium, the franchises are doing their best to keep the interaction close with them. In fact, Snapchat has also come up with numerous AR lenses of the IPL teams for the users who can show their support.
Fans can also follow their favourite teams and use the filters by tagging the teams they are supporting this year. Some of the IPL teams including Royal Challengers Bangalore already have a channel on Youtube where they post BTS of the players.
The pre and post match videos within the team’s dressing rooms helps them to keep in touch with the fans.
“It was fun to work with the Snapchat team on this fun lens. I am excited to see our Delhi Capitals fans use AR to show their support for us,” Delhi Capitals skipper Shreyas Iyer said.
The fans can follow their favourite IPL teams from the following usernames on Snapchat–Delhi Capitals (@delhicapitals), Kings XI Punjab (@officialkxip), Kolkata Knight Riders (@kkrsnaps), Mumbai Indians (@mi_paltan), Chennai Super Kings(@cheniipl), and Rajasthan Royals (@rajasthanroyals)
