Delhi Capitals wicket-keeper batsman Rishabh Pant is likely to sit out for more than a week, following the intensity of his injury. The 23-year-old was ruled out from the last game after sustaining a hamstring injury while keeping.
As per the sources, Pant has reported of Grade 1 tear, implying he is likely to sit out for more than a week. One of the sources of Delhi Capitals confirmed the news of his injury report ahead of the side’s clash with Rajasthan Royals.
“He has a Grade 1 tear and it is not just a hamstring pull as was believed to be. He is under observation and we are hoping he gets fit quickly,” the source said.
Pant was limping after completing the catch of Varun Aaron which helped Delhi Capitals win the match against the Rajasthan Royals.
Delhi Capitals also suffered a setback after the pacer Ishant Sharma was ruled out of the season following a muscle tear.
The franchise had appealed to the BCCI for the replacement of the lanky pacer during the mid-season transfer starting Tuesday.
“The pacer experienced an acute episode of left rib cage pain while bowling at a team training session on October 7 in Dubai. Subsequent investigations revealed that he sustained a left internal oblique muscle tear,” franchise informed in a release.
