Mumbai Indians raced to the finals of the IPL for the sixth time in the history of the tournament in Dubai on Thursday. It was a brilliant show from the pace duo Trent Boult and Jasprit Bumrah who jointly took six wickets during Delhi’s batting.
While Jasprit Bumrah finished with 4/9 in his spell of four overs, Boult only bowled two overs in which he inflicted a couple of damages on Shreyas Iyer led side.
Unfortunately, he couldn’t come out to bowl after sustaining an injury while fielding in the 14th over of DC’s batting.
Boult had dismissed Prithvi Shaw and Ajinkya Rahane for a duck helped the side take the control of the game in the powerplay.
The winning skipper Rohit Sharma during the post-match presentation gave an update on Boult’s injury as he said, “I’ve not seen him (Boult). But he seems okay. I don’t think it’s a big problem. Three-day rest and he should be back on the park”
Both Boult and Bumrah have contributed in their exponential dominance in the ongoing season of IPL 2020. Rohit Sharma praised the duo for their performance throughout the season, especially for their illuminating show in the last few weeks of the tournament.
“Bumrah and Boult have been in solid form. They play for different teams so they have different plans. We as a team have different plans and it’s great to see them execute those” he concluded.
Already into the finals, Mumbai Indians will now face the second qualifier of the tournament on November 10 at Dubai International Stadium.
