Chennai Super Kings (CSK) CEO Kasi Visvanathan on Tuesday confirmed that all the members have finally tested negative for the coronavirus. Last week, 13 personnel including Deepak Chahar and Ruturaj Gaikwad had tested positive for COVID-19.
And now MS Dhoni and his men can finally start training from September 4 i.e., from Friday at the ICC Academy. However, Deepak Chahar and Ruturaj Gaikwad will still undergo 14-day quarantine before joining the team.
“Yes, all 13 members have tested negative for COVID-19. They will have to undergo another test on Thursday, September 3. We are likely to start training on Friday, September 4,” Viswanathan said.
“Deepak and Ruturaj will complete their 14-day quarantine and then join training after two negative tests as per protocol,” he added.
Earlier, CSK had confirmed an extended quarantine after the 13 personnel including two players had tested positive of the virus.
But now, Vishwanathan also assured that the team has increased the tests and regularly monitoring every member’s health.
The IPL will start from September 19 while the finals will take place on November 10 which is a weekday. This will be the first time that an IPL finals will take place on a weekday.
