IPL franchise Chennai Super Kings is the only team that hasn’t started their training ahead of the season start from September 19.
Earlier, the franchise was hit by the coronavirus as 13 personnel including two players had tested positive last week. The two players were Deepak Chahar and Ruturaj Gaikwad who are also currently under the quarantine for the 14 days. Due to that, the entire CSK team was forced to extend their quarantine period until September 1.
However, CSK CEO Kasi Viswanathan confirmed that none of the players have tested positive of the coronavirus after undergoing tests.
“13 personnel have tested positive of which 2 are players. All the affected personnel as well as their close contacts are asymptomatic and have been isolated from other team members. They are being monitored by the IPL Medical Team,” the BCCI stated.
As per the reports, the CSK players are now looking to start their training after the results of the third round of the coronavirus tests. One of the sources of the team also confirmed that the team is awaiting the report of the tests which is to arrive on Friday morning.
The BCCI on Thursday also said that the complete schedule of the 13th edition of the Indian Premier League starting September 19.
