Chennai Super Kings bowler Deepak Chahar finally joins the team camp after testing negative for the coronavirus on Wednesday. The pacer along with his teammate Ruturaj Gaikwad had tested positive for the deadly virus, leading to extended quarantine for CSK.
Chahar had to quarantine himself in his hotel room for almost two weeks before he could join the side after undergoing COVID-19 tests.
“One out of the two COVID positive players in CSK has tested negative twice now and after undergoing BCCI’s medical protocol he will undergo training,” one of the sources said.
Team CEO K.S Viswanathan stated that the pacer will not have to undergo cardio-vascular tests except one more coronavirus test.
“Now as per BCCI protocol he will undergo a cardio vascular test which will be an indicator of his recovery. After that he will have another COVID Test and if he is negative he can join the training,” Viswanathan said.
MS Dhoni and his men are currently training at the ICC Academy and they will face Mumbai Indians in the tournament opener on September 19.
