Looks like the upcoming season of the IPL has been hot with another blow ahead of the season start. A week after the Dream11 signed as the title sponsor of the IPL, one of the associate sponsors Future Group has pulled out of the sponsorship deal.
As per the sources, the Future Group pulled out of the contract abruptly in the final minute when the arrangements are ongoing in the UAE.
“Yes, Future Group has pulled out of the IPL Sponsorship deal. We are looking for a replacement”, one of the BCCI sources confirmed.
Future Group has been associated with the league from the last five seasons but now the BCCI has removed their logo from the official website.
Future Group had been paying 28 crores to the BCCI from the last five years and they were looking to exit from the sponsorship last season. But they continued with the deal before pulling out from the central contract this season.
The Future Group has been financially hit by due to the coronavirus pandemic and hence their decision to pull out has put the BCCI in a slight trouble.
The BCCI is also holding meetings with Unacademy and Cred for filling the void that the Future Group made after its exit.
