Kolkata Knight Riders on Saturday named the American pacer Ali Khan as the replacement of the England pacer Harry Gurney for IPL 2020.
The 29-year-old Ali will also be the first American cricketer to be roped in by an IPL team as he joins KKR for the IPL this season.
Gurney has sustained an injury on his shoulder during the home season and hence he was forced to opt out for a few months. He also pulled out of the IPL as well as the Vitality T20 Blast last month.
Ali Khan was with the Trinbago Knight Riders in the CPL 2020 and the side went on to win their fourth title of the tournament.
He also posted a picture on his Instagram travelling to the UAE with his TKR teammate Dwaye Bravo in a chartered flight.
Khan has been one of the rising stars of the Trinbago Knight Riders and also earned call-up in various T20 leagues all across the world. He has the potential to clock 140kph consistently and also bowls good yorkers. He also finished with 16 wickets in 12 matches in this season of the CPL.
