Chennai Super Kings star all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja will miss the side’s pre-season six-day conditioning camp in Chennai before the team’s departure for the UAE.
The six-day camp is scheduled to take place between August 15-20 in Chennai which will be followed by the CSK will fly to the UAE for IPL 2020 starting in September.
All the players including MS Dhoni, Harbhajan Singh, Suresh Raina and Amccwdeafdbati Rayudu will assemble for the camp in Chennai except Ravindra Jadeja. However, the all-rounder will be joining the side on August 21 when the team will depart for UAE.
“He has personal commitments,” CSK CEO Kasi Viswanathan told ESPNCricinfo on Jadeja’s absence.
Among the staff members and coach, only bowling coach Laxamipathy Balaji will be present in the Chennai during the training. While the other members including head coach Stephen Fleming and assistant coach Michael Hussey will directly join the team in Dubai on August 22.
Two South African players: Faf du Plessis and Lungi Ngidi are also set to join the squad by September 1.
“When we spoke to Faf and Ngidi they said yes, we are coming. They have said that they will only be coming after September 1,” Viswanathan added.
