Royal Challengers Bangalore spinner Yuzvendra Chahal has reckoned that this year’s squad is more balanced than ever. This year’s IPL tournament is taking place in the UAE due to the COVID-19 crisis in India.
Since, the matches are taking place only in three venues, there is no such factor of home ground for any team. The 30-year-old leg-spinner has said that there is a positive vibe within the team camp and the players are as positive as they were back in 2016.
RCB had a terrific season in 2016 when they went also went into the finals of the tournament but unfortunately lost against Sunrisers Hyderabad. Virat Kohli personally had one of the dream runs with the bat as he finished with 973 runs and the orange cap that season.
“This year we have a more balanced side, especially the bowling. We have won two matches out of three and we are very positive this year,” Chahal said in a virtual press conference.
“Everyone in the camp including Virat Bhai and AB de Villiers is saying that there is some different feeling. Something which we have felt in IPl 2016,” he added.
RCB has won two of its three matches this season and their last win came against the Mumbai Indians in a super over thriller.
“There is positive energy in the camp and also from the management side. If I am playing or not — my goal has always been to win a trophy for RCB,” Chahal added.
Royal Challengers Bangalore will next face Rajasthan Royals in their next on Saturday at the Sheikh Zayed Stadium in Abu Dhabi.
