England opener Jason Roy has been ruled out of the upcoming T20I series against Pakistan due to an injury. The ECB confirmed the news of his exit after he sustained left side strain during a practice session this week.
Jason’s injury has caused a massive setback for the side just a day before the first match of the series. The ECB hasn’t named any replacement for him so far. The ECB released a statement stating that the top Surrey batsman won’t be playing a single game at Old Trafford.
As of now, Roy has been sent to the rehabilitation camp for his recovery and hopefully join the squad for the Australian series.
The first T20I match between England vs Pakistan will take place at Old Trafford on August 28, followed by the next two matches on 30th and 1st September.
England have already defeated Pakistan in the Test series by 1-0 as the final Test match ended on a draw. World Cup winning skipper Eoin Morgan will be leading the side in the T20I series against Pakistan.
