South African pacer Kagiso Rabada is all set to make a comeback in the Proteas Test squad after recovering from his groin injury. The bowler has cleared all the medical tests and been declared fit to play in the upcoming matches of the South African team.
Rabada had suffered from a right adductor muscle strain injury last month that had forced him to drop out of the South Africa versus England Betway ODI series. The injury had also caused him to pull out of the Boxing Day Test against Sri Lanka.
However, he has now cleared the fitness test and will join his national side, which is currently playing in the day three of the first Test, after having gone through and clearing COVID-19 protocols to enter the Bio-secure bubble before the commencement of the second session of the match.
Rabada’s comeback ahead of the second Test of the series, promises a stronger bowling attack for the Proteas side. Rabada’s inclusion in the team has added to the stock of pacers in the Proteas squad which is barely equipped with any spinners. Along with Rabada, the pacer includes Lungi Ngidi, Anrich Nortje, and Lutho Simpala.
The second Test of the series will begin on January 3 at the Imperial Wanderers Stadium in Johannesburg.
