Indian Premier League (IPL) franchise Kolkata Knight Riders player Rahul Tripathi got reprimanded for breaching the IPL Code of Conduct. The aforesaid incident occurred during the team’s match against Sunrisers Hyderabad (SR) on Sunday.
IPL released an official statement in which it stated that the batsman admitted to the Level 1 offense 2.3 of the IPL Code of Conduct. They also mentioned that the decision of the Match Referee is final and biding for the breaches of the Level 1 Code of Conduct.
The Level 1 offense 2.3 states that “Match Officials shall not make or cause to be made any public pronouncement or media comment (including via any social media platform) which is detrimental to the game of cricket in general.”
Tripathi opened the batting for his side and played 16 balls, suturing 48-runs along with Shubham Gill. He contributed an individual score of 23 runs to the team’s total of 163 runs before his dismissal by T. Natarajan.
