Australian coach Justin Langer has heaped praises for the Indian team for their fantastic game during the second Test between India and Australia. Langer praised the Indian cricketers and said that their greatest strength is their discipline.
After getting crushed by the Australian cricket team in the first Test by a considerable margin of 8 wickets and registering the lowest Test score from a team, it was far-fetched to think that they will spring back so much stronger in the second Test.
They were without their captain and the best batsman, Mohammad Shami was out due to injury, and Umesh Yadav also succumbed to an injury, in spite of these adversities, the team played with an unyielding approach. Additionally, they levelled the series with the host and interestingly enough, with the same margin.
This fantastic show of game by the bowlers as well as the batsmen of the Indian team has garnered lots of admiration from coach Langer. Langer, on Tuesday, praised the discipline of the players and commended their strategy and planning to turn the tables. He especially applauded the bowlers and acknowledged their performances. He also indicated that their fielding was very well-planned to give a hard time to the host batsmen.
“Their greatest strength over the last couple of series has been their discipline. They (India) have been so well disciplined. I have loved the last two Tests because the wickets have been a contest between bat and ball and you have got to work a bit harder and that is what Test cricket is all about,“ Langer said while speaking in a virtual conference.
“So, I think, there is the factor of the wickets that we have played on, there is certainly some seam movement, there was a little bit of swing in both those wickets. India has taken a straighter line to a couple of our batters and set the fields accordingly,” he added.
