Pakistan all-rounder Mohammad Hafeez has breached the bio-security bubble protocol in Southampton on Wednesday. His actions have dismayed the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) as now Hafeez has been imposed a self-isolation until the time he tests negative for coronavirus.
The former Pakistan skipper travelled to England for the limited-overs series between England and Pakistan after the completion of the Test series.
Apparently, the 39-year-old was seen posing for a picture with a lady at a golf course adjacent to his the hotel where the team has been staying. The hotel has been under the bio-security bubble for the ongoing series between England and Pakistan. But Hafeez broke the protocols as he stepped out of the bubble without informing anyone.
Hafeez had posted a picture with the lady but he didn’t realise that it would cause him trouble and even the asked to sit out for five days until he tests negative twice for the virus.
A source close to the PCB said Hafeez’s action has infuriated the Board because they players were already instructed to not interact with anyone outside the bubble.
ECB has been taking the biosecurity bubble protocol very seriously as they also banned pacer Jofra Archer for one match after he left the bubble to visit his family without informing anyone.
