New Zealand women finally won their first match after returning to the international cricket in the third T20I game on Wednesday.
White Ferns put up an all round performance as they defeated the home side by 5 wickets at the Allan Border Field.
Put into bat, Australia lost both its openers but the middle order put in collective effort to take the team total to 123/7 after 20 overs.
Amelia Kerr and Tahuhu bowled superbly and finished with a couple of wickets respectively and played a significant role in restricting Australia on the low score.
White Ferns needed a good start so as to capitalize early in the innings but Maddy Green got out on 10 runs off 17 balls. Later, Amy Satterthwaite and wicket-keeper Katey Martin took the charge as they sailed the innings in the death overs.
Subsequently, they won the match by 5 wickets and Amelia Kerr was named the Player of the match. While, Ashleigh Gardner became the player of the series for all round performance in the series.
