Chennai Super Kings on Monday confirmed the return of the batsman Ruturaj Gaikwad after he tested negative for COVID-19 twice.
Ruturaj Gaikwad has finally joined the team in the bio-secure bubble after spending over three weeks in a separate facility in Dubai.
The youngster was seen practising in the nets but it is still not clear whether he will play against Rajasthan Royals. CSK will face Rajasthan Royals in their second game of the tournament on September 22 at Sharjah.
Earlier, Gaikwad had to self-isolate after he failed to clear any round of the COVID-19 test. On the other hand, Deepak Chahar already joined the squad after he successfully cleared all the rounds of the COVID-19 tests.
Chahar played in CSK’s tournament opener against Mumbai Indians and finished with 4/32 in his spell. CSK went on to win the match by five wickets against the defending champions.
Apparently, Ruturaj Gaikwad was one of the 13 members who had tested positive of the deadly virus. However, there were no fatalities as all of them recovered fast after self-isolation.
