Master Blaster Sachin Tendulkar has extended his support to the Glenn McGrath’s McGrath Foundation, which is a charitable trust that works for aiding breast cancer pateints.
Tendulkar got in touch with the foundation’s president and co-founder Glenn McGrath off the field to extend his support for the cause.
As a gesture to lend his hand to support the Foundation, Master Blaster gave McGrath a Test jersey of Team India, signed by himself, to be put up for auction to support the cause.
The McGrath Foundation has requested all the Australians to contribute to the noble cause ahead of the Pink Test between India and Australia at the Sydney Cricket Ground (SCG). McGrath has asked Australians to buy virtual Pink seats in order to help raise one million dollars for the McGrath Breast Care Nurses.
“Happy to lend my support to @McGrathFdn’s noble efforts during the #PinkTest to help patients dealing with breast cancer. It was wonderful meeting Glenn McGrath after long. My best wishes to him, his team & especially the nurses who are the backbone of this initiative,” Tendulkar tweeted.
McGrath expressed his gratitude to Tendulkar and responded, “We’re so thankful for your incredible support @sachin_rt! We are so excited to have your signed shirt in our auction this year!”
The McGrath Foundation is an official partner Pink Test and Cricket Australia’s Cricket Cares, a community action program.
