Bangladesh’s star all rounder Shakib Al Hasan cleared the fitness test ahead of the upcoming Bangabandhu T20 Cup on Wednesday.
Earlier, the all-rounder along with 113 cricketers was slated to undergo a fitness test on November 9 and 10 before the tournament. Bangabandhu T20 Cup will begin from the third week of November and BCB ensured a benchmark for all players to play in the tournament.
The players from the national team, first class cricket and under-19 unit will contest in the inaugural Bangabandhu T20 Cup.
And now Shakib Al Hasan is among the players to have cleared the test, will also allow him to return to competitive cricket.
”He passed the fitness test and now is eligible to take part in the tournament,” BCB chief selector Minhajul Abedin told Cricbuzz .
Shakib will return to professional cricket after a gap of over one year due to his ban imposed by the ICC.
He hit the gymnasium after clearing the fitness test round undertaken in the supervision of BCB. He trained at the facility of owned by the BCB along with the strength and conditioning coach Nick Lee.
