Chennai Super Kings’ star all-rounder Shane Watson on Thursday said that the three-time champions will surely have a great season in the UAE.
Watson said that despite some setbacks, the team’s build up is strong enough to win the title this year under the leadership of MS Dhoni.
The CSK franchise had dealt with a huge blow after 13 of their personnel including two players had tested positive for coronavirus. That led to the extended quarantine of the CSK camp until September 3rd in their team hotel.
“Having an experienced team means your players have more understanding of being able to get their skills to execute under pressure from game one,” Watson spoke on a YouTube show.
Watson has been a vital cog of the CSK team as he finished as the leading-scorer at the 2019 season.
“That is why we believe we’ve got a great chance of having a great year because of the quality of players and the experience we’ve got”
“We’ve got more chance of not making many mistakes trying to get up to speed as quickly as we possibly can.” the all-rounder added.
Chennai Super Kings will face the defending champions Mumbai Indians in the tournament opener on September 19 in Abu Dhabi.
