Delhi Capitals had one of the most upsetting matches against the Sunrisers Hyderabad this season, stumbling to the loss of 88 runs. It is also their second consecutive loss, both coming by a margin of over 50 runs while chasing the target.
On both the occasions Delhi Capitals failed to get a decent start from their openers Shikhar Dhawan and Ajinkya Rahane. Regular opener Prithvi Shaw has not been playing from the last few matches due to a patchy form was replaced by Rahane.
Even that punt has not yielded any favourable outcome for the Shreyas Iyer led team especially during the crucial stage of the tournament.
“We still have two games left but one win is really important, that’s what we are waiting for since the last three games. Back-to-back losses is definitely going to put us under the pump” skipper Shreyas Iyer said.
Iyer also pointed out on how and where his side lacked intent and almost gave away the whole game in front of the persistent SRH team.
“We lost the game in the powerplay itself. Getting 70 runs in the first six overs was really commendable and the way they went after our bowlers was amazing. We need to have that strong and positive mindset” the skipper added.
Following two back to back defeats, Delhi Capitals have now slipped to the third place in the team standings, with RCB and MI ahead of them.
“Going forward, Mumbai Indians and RCB they are good teams but we have beaten RCB once and we still gotta win against Mumbai” he stated.
Delhi Capitals is slated to face Mumbai Indians in their next match of the tournament on October 31 at Dubai International Stadium.
