Delhi Capitals scripted a record after reaching the finals for the first time following their win against Sunrisers Hyderabad on Sunday. Winning skipper Shreyas Iyer had all the reasons to be happy about despite his personal failure with the bat.
Team management experimented in the penultimate game by promoting Marcus Stoinis in the opening slot with Shikhar Dhawan. The gamble paid off really well as the Australian all rounder put up 86-run partnership alongside Dhawan.
Not just the heroics on the field, Stoinis has been the centre of attention off the field as could be seen from the recent video from the dressing room.
In one of the hilarious videos, DC skipper Shreyas Iyer was seen copying Stoinis’ by attempting to walk in his style and talk.
Not just Stoinis but the entire dressing room burst into laughter after Iyer imitated the latter in a farcical manner.
Here is the video of Iyer entertaining the whole squad with his imitating skills and also put the fans abuzz with joy.
All-rounder even went on to take three wickets during SRH’s chase by hunting down Priyam Garg, Manish Pandey and Kane Williamson.
In fact, Stoinis has been terrific this season with both bat and the ball as can reflected from his stats for the side. He has scored 352 runs and taken 12 wickets in 16 matches in this season so far. Moreover, he also became the fifth player in the history of the tournament to have score 30+ runs and take three wickets in the playoffs.
Stoinis scored 38 runs against the Sunrisers Hyderabad and also took 3/26 while defending the target of 190 runs. He has adjudged the player of the match due to his all-round performance leading to the side’s win by 17 runs.
