Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) on Wednesday appointed Dr Jayantha Dharmadasa as the new Vice President after K Mathivanan stepped down from the position on immediate effect.
The board conducted an Emergency meeting and unanimously appointed Dr. Jayantha Dharmadasa as the replacement.
SLC released a statement as it said: “The Executive Committee at its Emergency Meeting held this afternoon, accepted the resignation of Mathivanan and proceeded with appointing a vice president for the position vacant in terms of the provisions of the Constitution of Sri Lanka Cricket,”
As per the sources, Mathivanan’s resignation came a few days after the Executive Committee ordered an enquiry on him over his indulgance in the unethical practices as the office bearer.
“The current administration carries out their duties without transparency and integrity,” Mathivanan said in his resignation letter on Wednesday.
Mathivanan also alleged the SLC of sidelining him from all the decision-making activities that requires the involvement of the senior members of the Board.
