BCCI President Sourav Ganguly on Wednesday visited Kolkata to witness the ongoing Bengal T20 Challenge match at Eden Gardens. Ganguly also met Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB) President Avishek Dalmiya before witnessing the live action.
The other CAB members also joined Dalmiya and Ganguly for watching the game between Town Club and Calcutta Customs club.
Customs Club won the match by 6 wickets after chasing the target of 111 runs in 20 overs with Sumanto Gupta scoring an unbeaten 49 runs.
“BCCI President Sourav Ganguly spends some time at Eden Gardens in the company of CAB President Avishek Dalmiya and other office bearers during the Bengal T20 Challenge here today,” the CAB said.
The ongoing Bengal T20 Challenge has seen a pool of young talents unleashing their skills on the field. One such performance is Ananta Saha’s fifer including a hat-trick for Town Club and helped his side win the match against Mohun Bagan.
Last month Sourav Ganguly for overseeing the 13th edition of the Indian Premier League. This season’s IPL saw a huge surge in the revenue of the BCCI, pocketing them Rs. 4000 crores. mostly coming from broadcasting.
BCCI is also planning on giving a green signal for the domestic tournaments starting early next year. That will also resume the domestic cricket in India. It will be followed by the white and red ball series between India and England marking the return of international cricket in the country.
