Rajasthan Royals skipper Steve Smith praised the pacer Jofra Archer following a comprehensive victory over Chennai Super Kings on Monday.
Smith pointed out on how economical spells Archer had against the CSK and finished with 1/20 in four overs. It was a low-scoring game in which CSK also registered their lowest score of the season.
Spinners Rahul Tewatia and Shreyas Gopal along with Jofra Archer ensured RR stayed in the drivers’ seat with their miserly spells.
Archer dismissed the in-form opener Faf du Plessis for just 10 runs and didn’t concede run in front of the other CSK batsmen.
“Finally, good to get a win after two games where we probably let it slip, nice to get a win against the Chennai Super Kings, it was a pretty cruisy win at the end, we don’t have many like these at the Royals. Do we? Jofra has been amazing for us every game and our spinners always do the job. It was a nice wicket for the spinners, it was stopping a bit, they bowled nice lengths and they mixed it up,” Smith told Buttler in a video posted on iplt20.com.
Rajasthan Royals are now at the 5th place in the latest team standings after registering their fourth win of the season.
At one point, Rajasthan Royals were also struggling like the CSK on 28/3, but Jos Buttler powered them to the victory with his 70* off 48 balls.
The side will now face Sunrisers Hyderabad in their next match-up of the tournament in Dubai International Stadium on October 22.
