Sunrisers Hyderabad on Tuesday named the young pacer Prithvi Raj Yarra as the replacement of the injured Bhuvneshwar Kumar.
The franchise dealt with a second blow after Bhuvneshwar Kumar sustained hip injury against the Chennai Super Kings last week.
Now the franchise has included the 22-year-old Prithvi into the squad and has played 11 First Class matches, 9 List 9 matches and three T20 appearances.
The left arm medium pacer has also taken 39 wickets in the First class format and four wickets in the T20 cricket. He will join the SRH cam in the coming days for the rest of the season.
“Bhuvi will not be able to take further part in this year’s tournament as he has been ruled out with a hip injury. A big blow for sure as he is someone who leads the bowling unit and is also an integral part of the leadership group on the ground,” one of the sources said.
Warner spoke after the win over CSK and said he has no clue about the intensity of his injury, but now he has been ruled out for the whole tournament.
After the IPL, India will tour Australia for a white and Red ball series starting in the November end. Bhuvneshwar Kumar would be hoping of recovering by that time and take part in that series.
