Sunrisers Hyderabad sealed a spot in the playoffs of the IPL 2020 after beating Mumbai Indians by 10 wickets on Tuesday. Openers David Warner and Wriddhiman Saha scored half-centuries and built a 151 run partnership in a do or die game.
With the compulsory win requiring tonight for sealing the playoff spot, SRH bowlers first ensured to restrict the mighty Mumbai’s batsmen to 150 runs in 20 overs.
Pacer Sandeep Sharma scalped the highest, three wickets in the match while Jason Holder and Shabaz Nadeem scalped two wickets respectively.
Rohit Sharma returned as the skipper of the MI but failed with the bat as he got dismissed with just a single digit on the board.
Middle order comprising of Suryakumar Yadav and Ishan Kishan helped reach 100 runs mark, followed by a a 41 run knock by Kieron Pollard. Mumbai Indians somehow managed to reach a total of 149/8 wickets at the end of 20 overs.
SRH was just 150 runs away from outracing Kolkata Knight Riders for the playoffs of the tournament. Skipper David Warner scored and unbeaten 85 studded with 10 boundaries and one six.
While Saha clobbered the MI bowlers for 58* runs in which he smacked 7 boundaries and one six as well. The duo orchestrated the win and won the jointly won the match with 17 balls to spare.
SRH will next face Royal Challengers Bangalore in the Eliminator match at the Sheikh Zayed Stadium on November 6.
