Former Indian batsman and CSK all-rounder Suresh Raina on Tuesday finally spoke about the tragic incident that took place in Punjab.
He described the incident leading to the death of his uncle as “horrible” after the robbers broke into their Pathankot house last week. His aunt is on life support after getting injured badly in the attack while one of his cousins also died in the incident.
“What happened to my family is Punjab was beyond horrible. My uncle was slaughtered to death, my bua & both my cousins had severe injuries. Unfortunately, my cousin also passed away last night after battling for life for days. My bua is still very very critical and is on life support,” Raina tweeted.
Last week, Raina had pulled out of the IPL 2020 and returned back to India from the UAE citing personal reasons. That led to several speculations, one of them being his rift over the hotel room he was offered to stay in. He wanted a similar accommodation which MS Dhoni has in the UAE.
Chennai Super Kings have already suffered numerous setbacks after some of their players tested positive of the coronavirus. After that, Suresh Raina pulled out of the season and then Harbhajan Singh might also opt out of this year’s tournament.
CSK is currently under quarantine and expected to start their training session this week at the ICC Academy in the UAE.
