Kerala Cricket Association (KCA) on Wednesday announced the complete list of the Kerala’s state team for the upcoming Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy. The board named a 20-member squad that will compete in the tournament beginning January 10.
The whole squad will unite with the head coach Sri Tinu Yohannan to start their preparation for the tournament which will take place in Bangalore, Kolkata, Vadodara, Indore and Mumbai during the early stage.
The 20-man squad will be led by the wicket-keeper batsman Sanju Samson, with Sachin Baby named his deputy in the senior team. The board also confirmed that the team will depart from Kochi to Mumbai on January 1, by 9:20 AM in the morning.
Pacer S Sreesanth will also make his professional cricket comeback after seven years of serving ban from all forms of cricket. He impressed during the side’s warm-up game, picking 2/22 in four overs including 15 dot balls.
The squad also includes the veteran batsman Robin Uthappa who will strengthen the batting of the squad alongside the skipper.

The finals of the tournament will take place at the newly built Motera Stadium that recently hosted the President XI vs Secretary XI game during the BCCI’s 89th Annual meeting.
