The Board for Control of Cricket in India (BCCI) confirmed inking deal with mobile-based fantasy platform MPL as kit sponsor for the Australian tour.
Earlier this month, BCCI had signed a three-year deal with the MPL for the kit-sponsorship of Team India in the international cricket.
The deal would span for the next three years starting from November 2020 to December 2023. MPL also confirmed the development about sponsoring the kit for the Australia tour until January.
Under the deal, MPL will be responsible for designing and manufacturing the kit to be worn by the men, women and under-19 cricketers.
As per the deal, MPL will also pay a sum amount of Rs. 65 lakhs per game to the BCCI for the next three years, replacing Nike.
BCCI Secretary Jay Shah said, “The partnership leads us to a new frontier for Team India and for sports merchandising in the country. We look forward to working with a young Indian brand like MPL Sports to tap the potential that this sphere holds. This partnership aims at facilitating access to high-quality Indian cricket fan merchandise, including the coveted Indian cricket team jersey for cricket fans not just in the country but globally.”
